Pot of Gold Guide at FarmVille

Share
Here is the Official FV Pot of Gold Guide as spelled out at Official FarmVille Forums:-

Pot of Gold Guide
Been collecting all those special gold items for St. Patrick’s Day? Well the wait is over and the Pot of Gold is now available! Just put your collected Gold Pieces into it and then redeem them for St. Patrick’s Day-themed unique prizes!

You’ll get your somewhat empty-looking Pot of Gold free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Pot of Gold on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later (by switching to the Multi-Tool for instance).

Once the Pot of Gold is on the farm you can click on it, then select “Look Inside” to see this window:

The Pot of Gold works like many of our other item-gathering style events in FarmVille. You acquire Gold Pieces through various methods, then “Use” them to place them in your Pot of Gold. As you accumulate these items you can redeem them for exclusive items.

You can acquire Gold Pieces by:
  • Harvesting your Leprechaun’s Cottage.
  • Requesting Gold Pieces from your neighbors directly (by clicking on the “Ask for More” button).
  • Receive a Gold Piece from a neighbor who uses the Free Gifts page (or click on “Send Gold”).
  • Purchase 5 Gold Pieces at a time by clicking on the “Buy Gold” button (for 5 Farm Cash).
  • Click on a Pot of Gold-related feed from a neighbor.
  • Harvest a neighbor’s Leprechaun’s Cottage.

Here are the five different types of Gold Pieces (note they all count as the same when you put them in the Pot of Gold):

As you put Gold Pieces in your Mailbox you’ll see the gold coin meter on the left fill up. The physical look of the pot also changes as you stuff it full of gold.

You can also click on the “Comparison” tab to compare how many Valentines you’ve accumulated with your neighbors.

To get one of the special exclusive prizes, simply click on the “Redeem” button next to the prize you want—if you have enough gold (the available amount of gold that is redeemable is at the top of the window) you’ll be asked to confirm the purchase.

If you hit “Accept” the prize will be stored in your Gift Box and you can share an extra prize with your friends.

Note: unlike a few of our previous item-gathering events, there will not be a second page of exclusive prizes added. These six items are pretty much it for this event.

That’s it for the Pot of Gold! Good luck!

FarmVille Podcast - 18 Feb 2011

Share
Here is the official FarmVille Podcast as released on 18 Feb 2011.

You can read  the entire Transcript of this week's podcast below:

FarmVille Podcast - Feb 18th!

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast. My name is Stumpgrinder, and I am here to bring you the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week we will be discussing our latest releases and give you all a sneak peak of what’s coming to FarmVille in the near future.

On Thursday we released the Wishing Well, a cool new item that you can toss in a Lucky Penny, build up new special collections and redeem special rewards! Here’s how it works: the next time you play FarmVille after it updates you’ll get the Wishing Well for free. Since you’re automatically put into Placement Mode you can place the Wishing Well on your farm now, or simply choose to place it later by putting it in your Gift Box (just switch to the Multi-Tool to do this quickly).

Once you place the Wishing Well click on it, choose “Look Inside” and the Wishing Well window will pop up. Every time you throw a Lucky Penny into the Wishing Well, something will pop back out, depending on which Collection you’re working on. You’ll start off with the St. Patrick’s Day Collection, which is Level 1. You’ll see there are six different items you’ll need to collect in order to complete the collection and move on to the next level. You won’t know which item will come out, however, as it’s totally random.

Everyone starts off with one Lucky Penny. Click on the green “Throw Lucky Penny” button at the center of the window to start. You’ll see the penny get tossed into the well and one of the six collection items pop back out. If you don’t have any Lucky Pennies, you’ll see two other buttons instead: “Ask for More” and “Buy Pennies”.

Here’s how you can give and receive Lucky Pennies: Asking your neighbors directly for Lucky Pennies by clicking on “Ask For More”, giving Lucky Pennies to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page, and spending five (5) Farm Cash (click on the “Buy Pennies” button) for five (5) Lucky Pennies. There is also the possibility of getting extra Lucky Penny bonuses when you throw (which can also be shared).

Check marks will appear next to the boxes for those items you collect. Note that these are not actual in-game items that show up in the Gift Box or anything (they work a lot like ordinary collections). You can get multiple numbers of the same items, but you’ll only get XP for each Lucky Penny toss you make.

Once you get all six items in that Collection, the “Throw Lucky Penny” button will grey out and the “Claim Reward” button at the lower right will appear underneath the Collection prize. Click the button to collect that prize (it’ll go into your Gift Box) and then you’ll move on to the next level. There are four Collection levels altogether.

Note you may also get a random bonus that can appear during a Lucky Penny toss. This bonus will show up in the Bonus box on the right, and usually consists of getting a few extra Lucky Pennies. The bonus is applied (one time only) as soon as you get it.

Being a new feature we want to know what you think about the Wishing Well, so please tell us what you think in our Official FarmVille forums.

We wanted to remind everyone that the Valentine’s Countdown is going to be ending soon, so if you haven’t gotten your daily prizes yet be sure to play FarmVille and see which ones you are missing. Just click on the heart icon at the upper right-hand portion of the FarmVille window to see what’ve gotten and what you need to get.

In the last few weeks we’ve released a number of Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year Limited Edition theme items, and we’re currently releasing the much anticipated Fairy Tale theme which many of you really like. Speaking of which, we’re asking about your opinions about upcoming themes like Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day in our Official Feedback forum, so be sure to stop by if you have a great idea!

Coming Soon Section
Now with news on what’s coming up in FarmVille. As some of you may have seen in the last few weeks, we’ve been teasing about the exciting FarmVille English Countryside feature via billboards and postcards in FarmVille and now we’re ready to reveal more.

With FarmVille English Countryside you’ll get the opportunity to start and play on a second farm, set in the English countryside. This farm will feature special soil which will help master your crops faster than ever before. In addition, the English countryside will be populated with friendly characters, like Agatha, your neighbor. They will help guide your play and present special activities and challenges.

FarmVille English Countryside will grant you access to all new crops, buildings, and much more that we will be revealing soon. While players Level 20 and above will be able to get access to FarmVille English Countryside, you can help junior farmers prepare for their journey by sending them materials and teaching them how to make their visit.

We want to thank everyone for their excitement and interest in FarmVille English Countryside. Our Facebook fan page reached 500,000 fans in just three days, and if you haven’t visited the fan page and Liked it, you should do so today because we’ll be running more updates from that the fan page starting next week!

And finally, in other news about what’s coming to FarmVille, be sure to build up your Greenhouse and save some seeds because we’ll have something for you to do with them soon. And stay tuned for a brand new promotion!
Alright folks, well that’s it from me this week! Again, my name is Stumpgrinder, and I would like to thank everyone for tuning in this week. Hopefully Lexilicious will be back on March 4th to bring you all of the latest news from around the farm.

Happy Farming everybody!

FarmVille Valentine Count Down Guide

Share
With Valentine season in full bloom, Master FarmVille brings this official FarmVille Valentine Count Down for all of you. You can also go through the beautifully decorated Valentine-Themed Farms here and here. You can get great ideas to decorate your own farms easily and conveniently.

Official FarmVille Valentine Count DOwn Guide
It’s time for the Valentines Countdown! For the next twelve days in a row play FarmVille and ask your neighbors for a special gift. Once you get all twelve you unlock a super-secret bonus prize! (For those of you who have seen the Winter Countdown, this works pretty much the same way.)
You can access the Valentines Countdown via a special icon on the right-hand side of the FarmVille display.

Just click on it and the Valentines Countdown window will open:

Here’s how it works: every day for twelve days in a row, starting February 10, you will have the ability to get a new item in the Countdown. As you can see in the image above, the first item available is the I Love You Stand. You acquire these items by clicking on the “Ask/Share” button.

From there you’ll be asked to make a post to your own wall asking for this item. If a neighbor or friend gives you this item, they’ll get one in return.

The criteria for acquiring that item of the day is met when you get the item from a neighbor or you get one by answering one of these feed posts. Each new day a new item will appear, and the process will start all over again.
What happens if I miss a day? you may inquire. That’s okay, you can catch up. For example, if I miss getting the first item on the first day, I see that I can still ask one of a number of particular friends for that item (click “Ask”), or I can just buy it outright for Farm Cash (the “Buy” button).

On the twelfth day all of the items will be visible. If you have received (by asking for or gifting to someone else, thereby getting one in return) all twelve items, the special bonus prize will unlock. The ability to acquire these items, as well as the special bonus prize, will remain for a few days after February 21 (the twelfth day), so even if you miss most of the days you still have a chance to catch up and unlock the special bonus prize.

You also have the option of buying the complete set ahead of time using Farm Cash. Just click on the “Complete Now” button at the bottom of the Valentines Countdown window and you’ll be asked to make the purchase for the appropriate amount of Farm Cash (which is the total accumulated Farm Cash cost of all of the items minus what you’ve already acquired).

Latest FarmVille Podcast - 4 Feb 2011

Share
Here is the Latest FarmVille Podcast as released on 4 Feb 2011.

FarmVille Podcast Transcription - Feb 4th!:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Grimwell and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, and everyone will be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

So today, we released the brand new Green House feature. Please be aware that this feature was originally teased in our last podcast as the Glass House, but has had a bit of a name change since then. Since the Greenhouse is brand new, I would like to give a quick explanation of this feature for everyone.

The Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building that you can use to create up to ten new Masterable crop breeds. The bigger the Greenhouse, the higher the amount of seeds you can start to produce.

First off, let’s not confuse the new Greenhouse with the old one that was available in the Market; the old Greenhouse has been renamed Glasshouse and had no actual functionality. Similarly, the Cube Greenhouse, available exclusively through FarmVille Mobile, is merely a decoration.

Everyone will get the new Greenhouse for free the first time the play after FarmVille updates, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Greenhouse frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.

The new Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building. Each level requires a certain amount of building parts to complete and each level allows the use of more seeding trays. For details on how many parts are required and how many trays can be used per level, please visit the “Game Updates” section of the FarmVille Forums.

Now, like many constructible building parts, you can acquire these items via neighbor requests, the free gifts page, Special Delivery Boxes and Farm Cash.
As you complete each level of the Greenhouse, it will become visually bigger and grander. Now, if you do not get the Greenhouse initially or wind up accidentally deleting it, you can purchase it in the Market under the Buildings tab.

To see what the Greenhouse can offer, just click on it on your farm and choose “Look Inside” from the menu options to see the Nursery display. Here, you can find and use the right seed combinations to produce one of the new crops. Just click on the “Place a Seed” display and you’ll see a mini-Market display showing twenty familiar crops.. Once you enter in the right two-crop combination, you’ll be told what the new crop will be and you’ll be deducted the cost listed under each crop. If you enter in the wrong combination you’ll get an error message.

Experimenting to create new crops will take time. However, if you click on the “Ask Friends For Help” button, you can speed up this process. Each Friend you get to help will reduce the experimentation time by a day. You can also speed up the process by using Farm Cash.

Once the experimentation process is over the clock will be replaced with an image of a new seed packet. Click on “Harvest” and you’ll be rewarded with a new super-enhanced crop.

Each time you finish experimentation you’ll get fifty seeds of this new crop, which are placed in your Market. You’ll also be able to share this new crop with your friends. As you expand the Greenhouse, you’ll get access to additional seed trays so you can experiment with more special crops at the same time.

Remember, you can experiment with any combination of special crops, there’s no restriction as to which you can try out. There will be a green “Ready” label over the ones that are ready to be harvested.

Clicking on the “Seed Genealogy” button will bring you to the genealogy display, where you can see all of the special crops available for experimenting. You can learn more about these special crops as well as how far along your Mastery of these crops are (yes they can be Mastered!) by moving your mouse over the crop image.

Now, the Greenhouse is a big release, so as per usual, we are looking for your feedback. Please make sure to visit the official FarmVille forums if you have an opinion about our latest update that you would like to share. And since we have a lot of really exciting news for you guys this week, let’s go ahead and jump into the coming soon segment of this week.

First up is something that I know our community has been waiting very patiently for. 28 x 28 Expansion will be released next week for coins! This expansion was originally going to be crafted into a new feature, which is the reason for the delay. However, the FarmVille Team decided that this feature was ultimately not as enjoyable for our players as it should be, so it will be released as normal next week. We would like to thank everyone for their patience with us so far and we are very excited for this upcoming release.
Along with the expansion, we will also be introducing the ability to collect watering Cans from Orchards. We have heard tons of feedback from users that Watering Cans are too scarce. In the near future, when you collect from your Orchard and do not receive a Seedling, you will receive two watering cans and an additional can that can be shared with up to 10 of your Neighbors.

And lastly, we will soon be introducing special new crops that will award extra experience points and more coins than normal crops.
And before I get out of here, I want to quickly inform everyone that the ability to harvest watering cans from snowmen has been re-enabled for an additional 3 weeks. If you have deleted your Snowmen, please contact Zynga Customer Service and they will restore your Snowmen for you.

Alright folks, well that’s it from me this week! Again, my name is Grimwell, and I would like to thank everyone for tuning in this week. Lexilicious will be back on February 18th to bring you all of the latest news from around the farm.

Happy Farming everybody!

Unreleased FarmVille Holiday Tree Presents for Christmas 2010

Share
LIke last year, there are all the likely chances that FarmVille Team will launch a Holiday Tree for Christmas. The Unreleased Images of the Holiday Tree or Christmas Tree 2010 can be seen here too. Here are the unreleased images of the FarmVille Holiday Tree Presents for Christmas 2010.
Last year's winter presents can also be seen here: Holiday Tree Presents 2010
Hoping to see this year's Holiday Tree 2010 released very soon but exact time can not be given due to obvious reasons. I also believe that this feature will be released on Monday, December 6, 2010 and this might also be the reason for the delay of the Official FarmVille Podcast.
What do you think?

Unreleased FarmVille Holiday Tree for Christmas 2010

Share
If you are a player for more than one year then you must be knowing that last year's winter saw a gorgeous feature in the form of FarmVille Holiday Tree (You can view the details here). The holiday tree was released on December 3, 2010. The holiday tree was supposed to be filled with different FarmVille Christmas Presents which were supposed to be opened after December 24, 2010.
This gave a lot of time to players to collect many gifts.
Here we have some unreleased pictures of the Holiday Tree Presents for 2010, which are likely to be released soon (Exact time can not be estimated :( Zynga has the rights to release at will). In fact it is already December 5, 2010.
You can also see the images of some Unreleased Holiday Tree presents for 2010 here: FarmVille Holiday Tree Presents 2010
What do you think about the Holiday Tree? Will it be named Holiday Tree again or it will be a FarmVille Christmas Tree this time?

Unreleased FarmVille Eider Duck

Share
Here is another one of Unreleased FarmVille Animals - An Eider Duck.
It is definitely beautiful and magnificent than many other breeds of FV Ducks. Are you waiting for its release?

FarmVille Winter Workshop Guide

Share
The Winter Workshop is now available in FarmVille! This new constructible building is the first major step to our FarmVille holiday season and soon enough you’ll be able to harvest special Holiday Gifts from the Winter Workshop for special use later. But first, however, just worry about getting them built as much as you can.

Workin’ on the Workshop

You’ll get the base for the Winter Workshop for free the first time you play FarmVille after the game update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Winter Workshop base on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.

You’ll only be able to have one Winter Workshop at a time. If you sell yours and want another, you can find it in the Market in the “Buildings” tab for 5,000 coins. You’ll need to be level 5 in order to place and use the Turkey Roost.

The basic Winter Workshop looks pretty but you won’t be able to harvest it for Holiday Gifts when the time comes. You’ll need twelve (12) parts (4 bricks, 4 nails and 4 wooden boards) to complete construction of the first level:

Like other constructible buildings, you can acquire these parts by:
  • Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).
  • Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.
  • Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is 1 Farm Cash.
  • Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.
  • Parts awarded through Special Delivery Boxes.
  • Using individual parts available in your Gift Box.

Once you complete construction of the first level you’ll see this new window:

There are two more levels of construction; the second level requires forty-five (45) total parts (15 bricks, 15 nails and 15 wooden boards), where the meter will be halfway filled, while the third level requires an additional sixty (60) parts (20 each of the 3 above). The bigger the level of the Winter Workshop, the more Holiday Gifts you’ll get when you harvest it.

Here’s how the Winter Workshop will look:

Harvesting for Holiday Gifts will begin soon. Your neighbors will be able to harvest your Winter Workshops for Holiday Gifts as well. Enjoy!

FarmVille UCSF Charity Event Guide including Candy Cane Crop Guide

Share
In case you hadn't heard, we are planting hope with the new Candy Cane Crop this Holiday Season! For a limited time, donate and receive a one week permit to grow Candy Canes! Candy Canes give more XP, can be mastered and will never wither.

Zynga will donate 100% of all proceeds from Candy Cane sales to support the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Oh, and if you buy a permit, you get a special prize too--one you can share!

Getting your Candy Cane Permit

If you’ve seen our previous Sweet Seeds charity for Haiti, the Candy Cane crop for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital works very closely with that. You can only plant the Candy Cane crop by purchasing a special one-week Permit in the Market. You can find the Candy Cane crop by clicking on the “Seeds & Trees” tab, then click on the “Seeds” sub-category.

Click on the “Donate” button to buy a Permit (if you’ve already bought a Permit, the button will change to “Buy” with a 15 coin icon next to it).

You can choose how much in Farm Cash you wish to donate in order to acquire the Permit—25, 55, or 240 Farm Cash. You won’t receive any extra bonuses for donating more Farm Cash; the options are there for you to donate more Farm Cash if you so wish. Once the week is done, you will need to purchase another Permit if you want to continue planting Candy Cane.

As you can see the Candy Cane is a pretty good crop. It’ll cost 15 coins to plant, and you’ll get 100 coins for harvesting (as well as 2 XP for each plot harvested). The Candy Cane will be ready to harvest in just 4 hours. Candy Cane is Masterable, and it never withers!

Zynga will donate 100% of all the proceeds from these Permit sales to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. You can read more about the charity at http://www.ucsfbenioffchildrens.org/...rens_hosp.html.

Planting Candy Cane and Other Notes

Note that when you purchase a Permit you get a notice for a special prize:

You can choose to “Share” the prize by posting a note on your wall, or you can “Skip” the notice altogether. Either way, the special prize will now be in your Gift Box.

Planting the Candy Cane works like any other crop; you can choose to buy a plot individually from the Market or you can plant multiple plots at once using a vehicle such as the Combine.

There’s also a new Co-Op available for Candy Cane crops:

While you need to have a Candy Cane Permit in order to start or join a Co-Op from inside the game. The object of the Co-Op is to grow 1,000 Candy Cane (Gold Medal: 1 day; Silver: 2 days; Bronze: 3 days) in the time allotted.

The Candy Cane crop will leave the market on December 14.
