What are FarmVille Super Crops? How they work?

Share

Howdy Farmers! FV has released yet another awesome feature by raising the curtain off FarmVille Super Crops.

What are Super Crops?
Now you can grow your crops to super sizes and the best thing is that they will help you in earning more coins, XPs and Bushels! On mastering the Super Crops, you’ll also receive a gold plated mastery sign for your achievement. Wow! Gold-plated was something missing in FV so far.

How to Get Super Crops Feature?
You will automatically see the following pop-up, when you login to your farm. By clicking the “Unlock now” button,  you will be taken to the “Seeds” section of the FV Market.
How many Super Crops are there?
Not all the crops are Super crops at the moment. Only nine new Super Crops can be found in the Market which can be distinguished by their Golden border card and  the “Super” title at the beginning of their name.

Following nine new Super Crops are available at this time:-

 • Super Cotton
 • Super Pumpkin (Different from the Super Pumpkins from the last year's fan event)
 • Super Yellow Mellon
 • Super Grape
 • Super Watermelon
 • Super Pepper
 • Super Strawberry
 • Super Pink Aster
 • Super Cranberry

Are the Super Crops Readily Available in Market?
No! In order to unlock a super crop, you must first fully master the basic version of the crop. For example, if you wish to plant Super Strawberries, then you must first master 3-level mastery for Strawberries Crop. Without mastering the basic version of the crop, you can not plant a Super Crop and you will see the following screen when clicking on the “Unlock” button:
After mastering the basic version of the crop, the Super crop will be UNLOCKED, but before this you have to complete another step as well. When you click the “Unlock” button on a Super Crop you have mastered, you will see the following screen:
The Super Crop will be available for planting as soon as 6 of your friends certify. You can also pay Farm Cash and get Super Crop immediately by paying some valuable Farm Cash, but I know most of you will prefer to get help from friends. After all, friends are meant to be helping :)

After unlocking your Super crop, you can immediately start planting it. After mastering all 3 levels of a Super Crop, you will be rewarded with a Gold-plated Mastery Sign as below:
Each time you achieve a mastery level, you will also be able to share packages of Super Crop seeds with your Neighbors for a limited time (7 Days). These seeds will allow your Neighbors to temporarily plant the Super Crop you have mastered, even if they would not otherwise have access to the crop. These seed packets can be found on the Free Gifts page and can be sent to any of your Neighbors.
If you receive a seed package from a friend, keep in mind that the crops still have their original level lock (for example, if strawberries normally unlock at level 20, you would not be able to use the Super Strawberry Seeds unless you were level 20 or above).

Each package you receive contains 20 seeds (this means you can plant a total of 20 super crops for each package of seeds you receive from a friend.)
In addition to the seed packages, you will also receive a one-time coin and XP bonus for each level of mastery you attain for a Super Crop. The rewards are as follows:

 • Super Mastery Level 1 - 1000 Coins and 50 XP
 • Super Mastery Level 2 - 3000 Coins and 150 XP
 • Super Mastery Level 3 – 10,000 Coins and 500 XP

As mentioned earlier in this guide, Super Crops will earn you additional coins, XP and Bushels when planted. Please find the information for each of these crops in the table below:

Each time you find a bushel from a Super Crop, you will be granted 4 instead of the usual 1. Please note that Super Crops only grant bushels for the basic version of the crop. This means that if I harvest Super Strawberries and find a bushel, it will be a normal Strawberry bushel, not a Super Strawberry Bushel. Because of this, you cannot use bushels on Super Crops to gain a Mastery Bonus.

If you need to know anything more, please leave a comment below and I will reply as soon as possible.

FarmVille Green House Official Guide

Share
Greenhouses are slowly rolling out so please be patient, you'll have it soon!

Welcome to green world of crop experimentation and seeding! The Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building that you can experiment to create up to ten new Masterable crop breeds.

The bigger the Greenhouse, the higher the amount of seeds you can start to produce. And you can get your friends to help speed up the experimentation process!

Building Your Greenhouse

First off, let’s not confuse the new Greenhouse with the old one that was available in the Market; the old Greenhouse has been renamed Glasshouse and had no actual functionality (other than looking nice). Similarly the Cube Greenhouse, available exclusively through FarmVille Mobile, is merely a decoration.

Everyone will get the new Greenhouse for free the first time the play after FarmVille updates, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Greenhouse frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later (by switching to the Multi-Tool for instance).

The new Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building where each level requires a certain amount of building parts to complete, and each level allows the use of more seeding trays (see below):
 • Level 1 – 12 parts total: 4 Wooden Boards, 4 Nails and 4 Bricks. Includes 1 seed tray.
 • Level 2 – 45 parts total: 15 Wooden Boards, 15 Nails and 15 Bricks. Includes 4 seed trays.
 • Level 3 – 60 parts total; 20 Wooden Boards, 20 Nails and 20 Bricks. Includes 8 seed trays.
Like many constructible building parts, you can acquire these items by:
 • Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).
 • Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.
 • Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is one (1) Farm Cash.
 • Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.
 • Potentially through the use of Special Delivery Boxes.
 • Using individual parts already available in your Gift Box.

As you complete each level of Greenhouse, it becomes bigger and grander visually:

If you do not get the Greenhouse initially or wind up deleting (or otherwise losing) it, you can purchase it in the Market (under Buildings). You’ll need to be Level 5 to use it.

Discovering New Seeds

To see what the Greenhouse can offer (and it’s at least Level 1) just click on it on your farm and choose “Look Inside” from the menu options. The initial Greenhouse display looks like this:

Right now you’re looking at the Nursery display. Here you can find and use the right seed combinations to produce one of the new crops. Just click on the “Place a Seed” display and you’ll see a mini-Market display showing twenty familiar crops (like Strawberries, Lilacs, Wheat, etc.). Once you enter in the right two-crop combination, you’ll be told what the new crop will be and that the experimentation process has started and you’ll be deducted the cost (in coins, listed under each crop). If you enter in the wrong combination you’ll get an error message.

The Nursery display will then look like this when you start a proper two-crop combination:

In this example you can see I’m experimenting with using Raspberries and Strawberries to make a new crop. Generally this process will take three (3) days. However, if I click on “Ask Friends For Help” I can speed up this process. Each Friend I get to help me out will reduce the experimentation time by a day, so if three friends help me out, I can finish the experimenting instantly. You can also speed up the process by clicking on “Complete Now” and spending Farm Cash (the cost is two (2) Farm Cash for each friend that hasn’t helped you so far, so if no friends have helped you then the cost is six (6) Farm Cash).

Once the experimentation process is over the clock will be replaced with an image of a new seed packet. Click on “Harvest” and you’ll be rewarded with a new super-enhanced crop (in the case of mixing the Strawberries and Raspberries you get the Straspberry).

Each time you finish experimentation you’ll get fifty (50) seeds of this new crop, which is placed in your Market and can be seeded (similar to giftable Limited Edition crops). You’ll also be able to share this new crop with your friends.

If you look at the Nursery bar you can see that you only have one seed tray to work with. As you expand the Greenhouse (click on the “Expand Greenhouse” button to see what you need), you’ll get access to many more seed trays so you can experiment with a lot more special crops at the same time. For instance, a Level 2 Greenhouse will get you four (4) seed trays and the Nursery will look like this:

Just click on a tray button to move between the trays. You can experiment with any combination of special crops, there’s no restriction as to which you can try out. There will be a green “Ready” label over the ones that are ready to be harvested.

Clicking on the “Seed Genealogy” button will bring you to the genealogy display, where you can see all of the special crops available for experimenting:

You can learn more about these special crops as well as how far along your Mastery of these crops are (yes they can be Mastered!) by moving your mouse over the crop image.

Happy farming!

FarmVille UCSF Charity Event Guide including Candy Cane Crop Guide

Share
In case you hadn't heard, we are planting hope with the new Candy Cane Crop this Holiday Season! For a limited time, donate and receive a one week permit to grow Candy Canes! Candy Canes give more XP, can be mastered and will never wither.

Zynga will donate 100% of all proceeds from Candy Cane sales to support the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Oh, and if you buy a permit, you get a special prize too--one you can share!

Getting your Candy Cane Permit

If you’ve seen our previous Sweet Seeds charity for Haiti, the Candy Cane crop for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital works very closely with that. You can only plant the Candy Cane crop by purchasing a special one-week Permit in the Market. You can find the Candy Cane crop by clicking on the “Seeds & Trees” tab, then click on the “Seeds” sub-category.

Click on the “Donate” button to buy a Permit (if you’ve already bought a Permit, the button will change to “Buy” with a 15 coin icon next to it).

You can choose how much in Farm Cash you wish to donate in order to acquire the Permit—25, 55, or 240 Farm Cash. You won’t receive any extra bonuses for donating more Farm Cash; the options are there for you to donate more Farm Cash if you so wish. Once the week is done, you will need to purchase another Permit if you want to continue planting Candy Cane.

As you can see the Candy Cane is a pretty good crop. It’ll cost 15 coins to plant, and you’ll get 100 coins for harvesting (as well as 2 XP for each plot harvested). The Candy Cane will be ready to harvest in just 4 hours. Candy Cane is Masterable, and it never withers!

Zynga will donate 100% of all the proceeds from these Permit sales to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. You can read more about the charity at http://www.ucsfbenioffchildrens.org/...rens_hosp.html.

Planting Candy Cane and Other Notes

Note that when you purchase a Permit you get a notice for a special prize:

You can choose to “Share” the prize by posting a note on your wall, or you can “Skip” the notice altogether. Either way, the special prize will now be in your Gift Box.

Planting the Candy Cane works like any other crop; you can choose to buy a plot individually from the Market or you can plant multiple plots at once using a vehicle such as the Combine.

There’s also a new Co-Op available for Candy Cane crops:

While you need to have a Candy Cane Permit in order to start or join a Co-Op from inside the game. The object of the Co-Op is to grow 1,000 Candy Cane (Gold Medal: 1 day; Silver: 2 days; Bronze: 3 days) in the time allotted.

The Candy Cane crop will leave the market on December 14.

Free Seed Management Service to Store your Seed Data

Share
Seeds are the lifeline of any gardener. A good seed collection is the most vital aspect towards enjoying a healthy and colorful garden. If you have a healthy and productive seed then almost half of your problems are solved. But having a good seed collection is not everything if you do not know how to organize them.
Farmers around the globe face this mammoth problem of saving and organizing their seeds and using/ sorting them out at the hour of need. In old times, gardeners used to keep a record of their collection of seeds by writing them in a note book or diary. As the technology progressed and computers became a part of the daily life routine, the gardeners shifted from notebooks to spread sheets in order to save their seeds data.
Although spread sheets were very easy to handle and solved most of the problems of these gardeners, but still there were some limitations attached with them. In order to use them in a perfect manner, you are supposed to be a computer geek and must know how to use various formulae, etc. And believe me not everyone can do it without mistakes.
I have been thinking over the past months; how to solve this problem but could not come out with any brilliant ideas. Yesterday I came across a magnificent Seed Management Service to solve the issue. It’s a computerized database which keeps record of your seeds in the most befitting manner without any requirement of learning any technical skills. All you must know is how to use the computer?
Benefits of iSaveSeeds.com.  Farmers and gardeners can keep a record of their stored seeds in this software to swap seeds, give away or to use for reseeding. I used the software and found it to be extremely helpful and accommodating. Some of the benefits which can be attained from it are as follows:-
 • Record of the seed collection can be maintained very easily and conveniently.
 • You can sort out your seeds in different manners like seed type, date of storage, etc.
 • You can store all data at one place and there will be no need to keep a notebook.
 • You can still keep your seeds in small, air-tight containers and keep them in a store but you will not be required to open them again and again to count them. Open your database and your collection will be in front of you.
 • Since your database is online, therefore you will be able to access your seed collection from any place on Planet Earth.
 • No one else can see your data as it is 100% Private.
 • Above all, this service is absolutely FREE to use and there is NO COST involved.
So go ahead and try out this free service at “I Save Seeds”. Please also feel free to leave comments about the service in the comments section under this post.
